Tips for Your Email Marketing Campaigns

"Subject" Line:
- Should be short - about 5-8 words and up to 40 characters (including spaces)
- Should not look like spam - check your spelling
- Should show a specific benefit - would you open it based on the subject?
- Should not be misleading - must contain information that pertains to email content
"From" Line:
- Should contain your company name or email address
- Email address should actually exist - if person should click "reply" - by law it should go to a real address
Page Copy:
- Your words should be clear and concise
- Proofread copy for misspelled words and improper punctuation
- Make sure it matches the subject line
- Include some kind of benefit or call to action
- Make sure there are appropriate graphics/white space
- Make sure all external links are correct
- Send yourself a test email
Other Tips:
- Know what your goals are
- Keep your audience in mind
- Listen to your subscriber's comments
- Are you sending your emails too frequently/seldom?
- Evaluate your list from time to time
